What is U.S. FMC?
In accordance with the regulations of the U.S. Federal Maritime Commission (FMC), enterprises that issue bills of lading in the U.S. to engage in non-vessel-operating common carrier (NVOCC) freight business for shipments to and from U.S. ports must first apply to the FMC and obtain U.S. NVOCC qualification. Currently, more than 1,000 overseas enterprises (non-U.S. local companies) have successfully obtained this qualification, enabling them to sign contract rates with local shipping companies and independently submit declaration information such as AMS/ISF.
